Upland Retail Center Prepares for Renovation
Upland Village Center is slated to be redeveloped in order to revitalize the area and tune up the city’s economic engine. The retail center, located at 229 E. Foothill Blvd. in Upland, is being acquired by Seal Beach-based Yavitz Cos.
The boutique development company, headed by Sandra Yavitz, focuses on retail development in Southern and Central California. The new ownership envisions renovating the shopping center and adding new restaurants.
City officials say some of the existing buildings will be demolished for new buildings that will help generate increased tax revenue from a well-located, but underutilized site. Planned renovation of the center could be completed by late 2016 or early 2017.
