Upland Parking Lot Site Acquired for MXU
Rancho Cucamonga, CA -based WB Properties acquired a .76-acre plot for $400,000 in Upland, CA, with plans to build a 33,055-square-foot, mixed-use project. The 82-spot downtown parking lot at C Street and Third Avenue would give way to a three-story development with 28 residential units and ground-level retail.
Members of the business community question the city’s decision to sell the land, suggesting the asset was undervalued. The city believes its assessment was accurate and in line with the goal of promoting living, working, and shopping in the downtown area.
The developer expects to secure planning approvals by September 2017 and start construction in October. WB Properties previously sought to acquire the site, but the deal fell through.
