Unveiled: Dallas Mavericks $70M Training Facility
Mark Cuban, owner of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks, has unveiled plans for a new, $70 million double-court training facility, which is being built in the Dallas Design District. The facility will be the first stage of a multi-phase development, according to Cuban.
In early June, Cuban acquired the 10 acres on North Stemmons Freeway, which is across from the American Airlines Center, where the Mavericks play. Sources estimate that the land buy could have cost up to $61 million.
Cuban is hoping to replicate Jerry Jones’ success in the Frisco Star development, a massive undertaking in Frisco that includes the Dallas Cowboys’ headquarters and practice facility. Frisco Star also features hotels and entertainment.
