United Technologies Opens $115M HQ in Florida

UTC Climate, Controls & Security opened its $115-million UTC Center for Intelligent Buildings in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. The 224,000-square-foot state-of-the-art innovation and technology experience center’s modern and connected work space will house 500 employees in an environmentally sustainable facility designed to the USGBC’s LEED Platinum standards.

UTC Climate, Controls & Security’s Bob McDonough says, “The UTC Center for Intelligent Buildings is more than a world headquarters for our business – it’s the embodiment of our commitment to our customers. This building was designed specifically to show our global customers exactly what is possible in the building technology space. That’s why we’ve chosen to openly display critical building technologies that are typically hidden in basements, closets and on rooftops.

The new HQ is located east of Interstate 95 on Donald Ross Road, on 30 acres of the former Briger property, near Scripps Florida research institute in Jupiter.
