United Business Mail More Than Doubles Chicago-Area Footprint

Connect Industrial is coming up on July 11 in Chicago. Here’s a link for more information about the conference and to register.

Minneapolis-based United Business Mail has signed a 203,000-square-foot, full facility lease at 801 Bryn Mawr in Itasca, IL. It represents a more than 148% increase in space for the largest independent provider of Standard Commingle Services in the United States.

The new Itasca property will serve as UBM’s Midwest hub. For the tenant, the main draw of 801 Bryn Mawr was the building’s power: 250 amps, or more than five times the power typically found in similar properties. UBM will use the increased capacity to run dozens of mail sorting machines and air conditioning systems.

Colliers International Chicago’s Steve Kohn represented UBM. “UBM’s business is a very unique—one of a kind, really—and demand for its service is growing exponentially throughout the U.S.,” said Kohn. “With this lease, it’s not only better positioned for additional growth, but also able to better serve its core customer base.”
