United American Indian Involvement Leases Echo Park Building
United American Indian Involvement (UAII), a non-profit organization providing education, counseling and medical services to Native Americans in L.A., signed a 30,688-square-foot lease in Echo Park. The seven-year deal for the free-standing office building at 1441-1449 W. Temple St., was valued $8.1 million.
The building’s interior is currently under construction, and it is expected to be ready for move-in next month. The property was built in 1968 and was recently purchased by Core Development Group, which is completing a build-to-suit for UAII.
Colliers International’s Nathan Pellow and Nick Nybakken represented the tenant. The landlord, dba Temple St Lofts LLC, was represented by Cushman & Wakefield’s Andrew Tashjian and Michael Gooch.
Colliers’ Pellow says, “Their existing space was outdated and inefficient as they had expanded in piecemeal over many years and were unable to control their environment, so it was our goal to find them an ideal free-standing building that suited their needs and better positioned them to serve the public.”
