Uniqlo to Open First South Shore Store
Uniqlo is opening a new store at South Shore Plaza in Braintree, its first location south of Boston, Boston Business Journal reported. The company plans to open 20 new stores this year, doubling its new-store count from 2023.
The growth focuses on the East and West coasts, with Providence Place mall also getting a new Uniqlo store. The Braintree and Providence locations are set to open this spring. Uniqlo already has stores in the Boston area on Newbury Street, at The Shops at Chestnut Hill, and at the Natick Mall.
Additionally, Akira, a women’s clothing store, has opened at South Shore Plaza, while Just Cozy is closing. Perfumania will open a fragrance store this spring, along with the previously announced gift shop Box Lunch.
