Understanding I-35, Internet Style

Drivers traveling Interstate 35 from north of Austin to San Antonio are used to torn-up roads, orange construction cones, snarled traffic and under-the-surface road rage. With seven projects under construction, and an eighth to be added to the mix beginning spring 2017, the Texas Department of Transportation launched a new website to impart knowledge, and hopefully reduce driver frustration.

Dubbed www.My35Construction.org, the site offers drivers specific details on upcoming lane closures, traffic incidents and travel issues throughout Hays, Travis and Williamson Counties.
For the record, TxDOT has been improving I-35 through a piecemeal process, as funding becomes available, which could explain why it seems as though the route is perpetually under construction. The agency has more than 40 projects planned for the north-south interstate.
