ULI Report: U.S. Real Estate Expansion to Continue Through 2021
Although economists’ views on economic growth has tempered over the past six months, they have continued to forecast growth in gross domestic product, slower but solid job growth, and steady real estate markets and returns through 2021, according to a recent ULI survey of real estate economists.
Despite headwinds such as the U.S. yield curve inverting, an escalation of the U.S.-China trade dispute, and slowing economic growth in Europe, the United States set a longevity record in July for economic expansion, exceeding 10 years for the first time.
ULI reports that forecasts through 2021 continue to be positive, indicating the current expansion will continue to set records. The organization notes that real estate fundamentals should stay healthy, with returns to the asset class changing little over the forecast period.
