ULI Partners with City of Fort Worth to Study Farrington Field Redevelopment

The Urban Land Institute – Dallas Fort Worth District Council, in partnership with the Fort Worth ISD, the city of Fort Worth and local design and real estate professionals, has announced a Technical Advisory Panel (TAP) focused on the redevelopment of Farrington Field and Billingsley Field house.

Farrington Field is an 18,500-capacity multi-use stadium located in Fort Worth. The stadium, which was completed in 1939, is the 2nd largest in Fort Worth and is used mainly for football and track & field. The stadium field house is an example of Art Deco stadium design, slated for listing on the National Register of Historic Places.

The purpose of a TAP is to identify short- and longer-term development opportunities for a location that will be catalysts for neighborhood improvement and economic development. The TAP outcomes focus on strategies that link urban assets and include recommendations for partnerships and financing.

“The study represents an opportunity to bring the City and Fort Worth ISD together with the diverse collection of stakeholders who define the neighboring community to envision an inclusive, equitable plan and disposition strategy for the property that will benefit the entire city,” said ULI in a press release.
