ULD to Develop Boutique Office Building in SOMA
Urban Land Development (ULD) has announced that demolition is underway to build 531 Bryant, the first ground-up boutique office development in the South Park neighborhood of Central SOMA in San Francisco. The 51,000-square-foot property is being designed by Handel Architects.
The building will have a targeted focus on today’s high-tech/low-touch healthy workplace environment. “We took a hard look at the pandemic-accelerated work style and retail trends and integrated them into our design,” said ULD’s CEO Jon Mayeda. “We are finding companies have a renewed appreciation for accessible mid-rise building in different areas of a city, especially near transit nodes.”
Exterior amenities will include a landscaped rooftop terrace with panoramic views of The City and a 700-square-foot balcony dedicated to the fifth floor. 531 Bryant will also include micro retail units for local food entrepreneurs as well as a sculpture garden courtyard featuring the work of local Bay Area artists.
