UH Moving on $130M Stadium Upgrades
For a college football team to stay relevant, most universities know they must keep up with the escalating facilities war. With the school entering the more demanding Big 12 conference, the University of Houston has gotten the message. The University of Houston’s new $130 million football facility is almost underway following a sponsorship from Memorial Hermann Health System.
The 105,000-square foot Memorial Hermann Football Operations Center will house the university’s football program and have sports performance centers, an academic support services suite, a new locker room, student-athlete flex space, and open space for coaches and staff.
It will be connected to TDECU Stadium on the west side and have additional premium seating options.
It will add 14 suites, a 450-seat club section with access to an 11,000-square-foot club, and a 300-seat roof terrace to the venue’s offerings (see rendering).
The facility will break ground after the 2023 season and open prior to the 2025 season.
