Uber to Lease 450K SF on Dallas’ East Side
Westdale Real Estate Investment and Management announced Uber would lease 450,000 square feet in a new tower, that will be built in the mixed-use Epic development on Dallas’ east side, near the Deep Ellum neighborhood. To that end, Westdale will develop its second office tower, totaling 470,00 square feet, on the site on Pacific Avenue. Construction on the tower, designed by Perkins-Will and being built by KDC, is scheduled to begin in Q4 2019.
Dennis Barnes, Tommy Nelson, Ben Davis of CBRE represented Westdale. CBRE’s Phil Puckett, John Ellerman and Harlan Davis advised Uber.
Until the new office tower is completed in Q2 2022, Uber will occupy 168,000 square feet in the existing 251,000-square-foot office tower. The space will house approximately 700 employees. Once the company moves into its new building two years later, it will employ an estimated 3,000.
In addition to office space, the Epic includes 55,000 square feet of retail and restaurant, 310 residential units, and a hotel.
