Uber Hails Another 50K SF of Space

Uber Technologies Inc. is not abandoning its San Francisco Mid-Market location yet, even as it continues to expand in other locations. The ride-hailing unicorn is taking an additional nearly 50,000 square feet of space at 1455 Market St., where it occupies about a third of the 1-million-square-foot building.

Uber expanded its presence at 1455 Market St. in 2014, encompassing some 220,000 square feet, and last year leased 173,000 square feet at 555 Market St.

In 2017, Uber is planning to relocate part of its HQ to a 330,000-square-foot former Sears Building in Oakland that it acquired and converted. The company is also co-developing a 422,000-square-foot campus in Mission Bay, with Alexandria Real Estate Equities.

Cushman & Wakefield’s Zachary Siegel and J.D. Lumpkin represented the landlord, Hudson Pacific Properties.
