U.S. Bank Building Getting Observation Deck, Major Overhaul
The U.S. Bank Tower will likely be a tourist destination in the coming years.
Singapore-based Overseas Union Enterprises, which bought the 72-story building in 2013, plans to pump $50 million into its renovation. This will include an observation deck, restaurant and bar among its top floors.
The owners have already picked names for the new additions. Skyspace L.A. is the moniker for the observation deck, while the restaurant is going to be dubbed 71Above and headed by chef Vartan Abgarya, who runs Cliff’s Edge in Silver Lake.
The deck is scheduled to open in the middle of next year at the 1.4-million-square-foot building, which is reportedly about 80 percent leased.
