U-Haul Acquires Harlingen Lumber Store

Storage and truck-renting company U-Haul bought the former ProBuild lumber warehouse site in Harlingen, TX for $1.5 million. The 10 acres at 1218 N. Ed Carey Dr. had been vacant for three years. The land includes a 26,000-square-foot warehouse, part of which is climate controlled. U-Haul plans to add self-storage space to the climate-controlled portion.

According to Eric Ziehe with NAI Rio Grande Valley, the site will be U-Haul’s ninth in South Texas. Ziehe, who brokered the transaction, said U-Haul had looked at 40 locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley before settling on the ProBuild site.
