Two Trees’ Domino Park Wins RPA Plaudit

Regional Plan Association has honored Two Trees Management with the association’s first-ever “Transformative Project of the Year” Award for its role in developing Domino Park. The six-acre park on the Williamsburg waterfront is a component of Two Trees’ redevelopment of the former Domino Sugar Refinery.

“Domino Park represents public-private partnership at its best: transforming an underused, formerly industrial site along the waterfront into a modern community hangout; bringing nature and our waterfront back into our daily experience of our city; and helping to prepare us for environmental changes to come,” said RPA president Tom Wright.

Domino Park, said Two Trees principal Jed Walentas, is the result of “hundreds of hours of community conversations, and we’re proud to have delivered a beautiful, multi-purpose waterfront park that responds to the needs of North Brooklyn residents.”

RPA presented the award at its first-ever benefit event, held at the recently opened Domino Park.
