Two Tenants Expands at Hunt Midwest’s SubTropolis
Less than a year after locating in Hunt Midwest’s SubTropolis in Kansas City, MO, pharmaceutical company Nostrum Laboratories and online retailer FarmFoods expanded their footprints by a combined 52,000 square feet at what is reportedly the world’s largest underground business complex.
At New Jersey-based Nostrum, company leaders recognized the value proposition SubTropolis offered in meeting their climate-controlled requirements for product safety and quality control. For FarmFoods, the expansion was driven by a soaring increase in online grocery shopping.
“SubTropolis allows pharmaceutical and e-commerce companies the ability to capitalize on secure climate-controlled environment with low operating costs to facilitate their business growth,” explains Hunt Midwest SVP Mike Bell. “The flexibility and agility to expand tenants in SubTropolis quickly enables companies like Nostrum and Farm Foods to capitalize on their business needs.”
Hunt Midwest recently expanded SubTropolis by 400,000 square feet, bringing its leasable space to more than 6.5 million square feet.
