Two Renovated Taylor Historic Buildings For Sale
Two historic Taylor buildings, one constructed in 1888, have been fully renovated, leased out, and are now on the market. The McCrory-Timmerman and Titsworth buildings combine for 45,000 square feet of office and restaurant space. The buildings also include loft apartments. The asking price is $15.8 million.
Judy Blundell and Mark Nibbelink spent ten years renovating and then leasing out the buildings, which are 95% leased. Aaron Gill and Todd Mahler with Partners have the listing.
The Austin Business Journal reports that more than 50 years ago, Taylor was a going concern. But much changed in the intervening decades, and many buildings have sat empty or in disrepair.
Over the last several years, however, there are signs that the downtown is primed to bustle again, thanks primarily to the arrival of the nearby multi-billion Samsung chip fabrication plant. Restaurants, breweries, bicycle shops and coffee shops have popped up throughout the city to serve the factory and the thousands of people who will support its operations.
