Tom Thumb, HEB to open in DFW

Two Grocers Announce Dallas Open Dates

A new Tom Thumb store in Frisco will open in a few weeks, while a new H-E-B store will debut in Prosper next year.

The Tom Thumb store will anchor the Lexington Valley shopping center being built by Centergy Retail at the corner of Coit Road and Eldorado Parkway. It’s one of three new Dallas-Fort Worth-area locations in the works for the supermarket chain. Two other stores are under construction in Forney and Waxahachie.

Tom Thumb is owned by Albertsons, which also owns Safeway, Randalls, Market Street and United Supermarkets.

Continuing its growth in the Metroplex and forging ahead on the outskirts of Collin County, H-E-B will open next year in Prosper.

The store, located at the southeast corner of Frontier Parkway and Dallas Parkway, is expected to open in fall 2025. Prosper is about 10 miles north of Frisco. The store is expected to be around 132,000 square feet and is tucked behind a neighborhood near Frontier Park.
