Two Food Processing Plants Trade to Provender

Newport Beach, CA-based Provender Partners, specializing in food-related industrial real estate, has acquired two facilities in the Chicago suburbs. They include a 141,000-square-foot food processing facility at 5420 St. Charles Rd. in Berkeley, and an 80,000-plus-square-foot meat processing plant at 525 W. Crossroads Pkwy. in Bolingbrook.

Deal terms weren’t disclosed. The Berkeley facility is 100% leased, while the Bolingbrook facility is available for lease.

“Our proprietary database of available buildings shows close to zero supply of protein processing facilities currently on the market,” said Neil A. Johnson, CEO of Provender Partners. “The acquisition of a vacant protein processing plant in Illinois will be a perfect fit for protein processors seeking additional facilities and a labor pool to support it.”

Stream Capital Partners’ Jonathan Wolfe represented both sides in the Berkeley sale.

On the Bolingbrook deal, Colliers’ Vern Schultz represented the seller and Tom Condon of Lee & Associates advised Provender.
