Two Downtown MF Developments Approved

San Antonio’s Historic and Design Review Commission has given its stamp of approval to two downtown multifamily developments: a 17-story complex on the River Walk, and a five-story community at the current site for the Junior League of San Antonio.

Local developer Keller Henderson plans to develop the River Walk project, named Floodgate. Austin-based architecture firm Rhode:Partners designed the property, which will include 60 to 64 units, in addition to four penthouses and two restaurant spaces.

“We’ve got an opportunity, although it’s a very contemporary building, to reiterate its historic location in relation to the River Walk,” Henderson says.

The yet-to-be-named project on the Junior League site is located at the east corner of McCullough Avenue and Dallas Street. City documents indicate that Dallas-based Stillwater Capital is involved with the project.

Both projects must go before HDRC again for final approval.

The Connect Apartments conference will take place June 26. For more information, or to register, log on here.
