Two Data Centers Expanding in Las Vegas
ViaWest and Switch, two data center companies, are investing in Las Vegas expansion. ViaWest is planning to add approximately 42,000 square feet to its Lone Mountain Data Center, while Switch is boosting its power and utilities. Switch also recently opened its Citadel Campus just east of Reno, NV.
ViaWest received a permit for $7.2 million worth of work to its building at 3330 E. Lone Mountain Rd. Construction is anticipated to finish sometime in March 2017. The Lone Mountain building opened in 2013. ViaWest, headquartered in Colorado, has two other data locations in Las Vegas.
Switch, which is a local business, has embarked on electrical work for its site at 7365 Lindell Rd. It isn’t clear if the electrical work is related to the company’s Nap 10, a planned, 343,000-square-foot data center that is still under construction. Switch also has under construction Edge 1.
