Tucson’s Uptown Lands Tempo by Hilton

The Bourn Companies is swiftly moving on its repurposing of what used to be the Foothills Mall. The company’s latest announcement involves the scheduled opening of Tempo by Hilton Tucson Uptown in late 2026.

Bourn bought the struggling Foothills Mall in 2016 and changed the name of the sprawling 51-acre retail center to Uptown. Uptown will include shops, restaurants, an entertainment stage, event lawn, splash pad, video screens and a public market, along with the apartments and hotels. Bourn has said Uptown could have up to three hotels.

For the first one, Bourn is collaborating with the Valencia Hotel Group to bring Hilton’s newest hotel brand to Uptown, on the northwest corner of Ina and La Cholla. The Tempo by Hilton Tucson Uptown will have 144 rooms as well a a fitness center, a bar and cafe, a pool and 3,000 square feet of meeting space.
