$500M, 2M SF Tucson Foothills Mall Plans revealed

Tucson Foothill’s Mall “Big Reveal” Announced

The “Big Reveal” has been…revealed. Tucson Developer Don Bourn purchased the underperforming Foothills Mall in 2018 and has had most of it demolished. He waited until just last week to publicize its new look.

He’s calling the two-million-square-foot, $500 million project “Uptown”. Bourn says the mixed-use, high-density project will be an urban village setting that will include high-end residences and public entertainment space. Pima County has already approved up to 10-story buildings on the 51-acre site.

The initial build-out, expected to be completed in Summer 2025, will include 5,000 square feet of new retail, and about 500 residential units between a boutique hotel and a mid-rise apartment building with a rooftop pool on the fifth floor.

More apartments, restaurants, a giant splash pad and concert area, outdoor screen, and a multilevel parking garage are to follow.
