Tucson Biotech Benefits Outlined in White Paper

The Commercial Real Estate Group of Tucson (CREG) has updated a white paper on the biotech industry’s local growth. “The Bio Industry in Tucson, Arizona – Second Edition” explains the fundamentals driving the industry’s start-ups and relocations in and around the city.

Benefits include Tucson’s logistics and transportation infrastructure, the Bioindustry Organization of Southern Arizona (BIOSA) and Bioscience Leadership Council of Southern Arizona, both of which build talent and tap funding sources. Additionally, the University of Arizona is home to the Bio5 Institute, and has a tech business incubator.

There are more than 100 bioscience companies in Tucson,” says Michael Coretz, principal of CREG Tucson. “The area is home to companies like Ventana Medical Systems/Ventana Roche and Sanofi, along with C-Path and other accelerator and funding organizations.”
