Trump’s AI Stargate Project to Debut in Abilene
President Donald Trump teased the project just after taking office and now we know Texas will serve as the launch point for a $500 billion effort to boost artificial intelligence research in the United States.
Oracle’s Larry Ellison says the so-called Stargate Project would get its start in Abilene. Oracle is reportedly leasing a 200-megawatt data center in the central Texas town. Oracle, OpenAI and SoftBank are sponsoring the program, that is designed to deliver the physical and virtual infrastructure to power the next generation of advancements in AI. The investment will be $500 billion over the next four years.
Of the $500 billion planned investment, the project will begin deploying $100 billion immediately.
Project leaders predict the project will create hundreds of thousands of American jobs, and generate massive economic benefit for the entire world.
