Trump Hotels Plans Downtown Dallas Project

New York City-based Trump Hotels is planning a new, four-star concept dubbed Scion, near Dallas City Hall, downtown. The six-story, 220-room hotel with ground-floor retail space, will be built within a $50-million, mixed-use development, according to developer Mike Sarimsakci.

Unlike the Trump Hotels brand, Scion won’t have the Trump name, and will be affordable, with hotel rooms ranging from $200-$300 a night.

Sarimsakci’s company, Alterra International, based in Dallas and Istanbul, will develop Scion Dallas as part of a mixed-use development on St. Paul Street, between Wood and Young Streets. If all goes well, Alterra could begin ground-up development by the end of this year. Scion Dallas, the first location of the new concept, could be open in early 2019.
