Trucking Issues Could Cause Port Delays
Just when we thought that congestion issues at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach would be resolved because of new labor negotiations, a new issue has arisen that could cause more delays.
The California Trucking Association is saying that the International Longshore and Warehouse Union and Pacific Maritime Association are holding up truck traffic due to overly long inspection times.
At issue is the repair and inspection of chassis, which is what shipping containers sit on when they are move onto trucks and then shipped to different locales.
