TruAmerica Multifamily Adds Structured Finance Vertical

Los Angeles-based TruAmerica Multifamily, a leader in multifamily investment, announced the launch of its new structured finance vertical, a strategic initiative to complement its flagship value-add investment platform. The firm has appointed veteran real estate finance executive Ash Baraghoush as senior managing director to spearhead the effort, which follows on the mid-January launch of TruAmerica’s affordable housing vertical.

The structured finance vertical will leverage TruAmerica’s national footprint to launch preferred equity and mezzanine debt offerings for multifamily. The preferred equity platform aims to meet market demand amid the elevated interest rate environment and continued capital markets dislocation

“We are thrilled to welcome Ash to the team at such an exciting time for TruAmerica,” said Robert Hart, president & CEO of TruAmerica. “His expertise in structured finance will allow us to broaden our platform and create new opportunities to benefit our investment strategies and the communities we serve.”

Baraghoush joins TruAmerica from Pacific Urban Investors, bringing deep expertise in developing and managing structured finance platforms. Before coming to Pacific Urban, he spent three years at Ares Management.
