Trio of Hotels Planned in Coachella Valley
Three hotels are planned to be built in two Coachella Valley cities. Desert Hospitality Group’s plans were approved for a Holiday Inn Express & Suites and a Staybridge Suites in Palm Desert, CA (pictured). In La Quinta, Mesa, AZ-based Sunridge Hotel Group plans to build a 108-room hotel.
The Palm Desert properties will be four-story hotels at 74-755 and 74-777 Technology Dr., including the 96-room Holiday Inn and the 90-room Staybridge. The 3.9-acre site is near Interstate 10 at Cook Street, and is part of the Millennium Specific Plan, a mixed-use development focused on walkability and sustainability. Construction is planned to commence within nine months.
The City of La Quinta is selling 2.9 acres of city-owned land near Costco to Sunridge for roughly $1.4 million. A four-story Residence Inn by Marriott is planned for the site on Highway 111, east of Dune Palms Road. Construction is expected to start next January, and completion is expected by May 2020.
