Trio of CRE Veterans Form New Development Firm
Real estate veterans Matt Root, Jim Stuart and Kevin Burke formed a real estate development company called Matter Real Estate Group. The San Diego-based firm primarily develops within the Western U.S., with projects in planning or under construction in such cities as Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Phoenix.
Founding members of the company bring more than 80 years of combined experience encompassing development or acquisition of more than 20 million square feet.
Root brings 27 years of experience, including directing the acquisition of more than 20 million square feet of real estate assets valued in excess of $4 billion. He’s also responsible for arranging and structuring over $2 billion in equity and debt positions.
Stuart’s led hundreds of transactions, in excess of $2 billion in development during a 30-year tenure in real estate. Burke, an engineer, adds more than three decades of comprehensive construction management expertise.
