Transformed 1840s Cotton Mill Named “Best Apartment Complex” in Augusta
Coral Gables, FL-based Beacon Real Estate Group’s mixed-use development Enterprise Mill in Augusta, GA, has been named 2022 Best Apartment Complex by readers of the Augusta Chronicle.
The property — originally constructed in the 1840s as a cotton mill — is now a mix of 60 loft apartment homes, 215,000 square feet of Class A office space and a rustic 2,400-square-foot event space. It sits at 1450 Greene Street adjacent to the Augusta Canal and between Augusta’s downtown and medical districts.
Each of Enterprise Mill’s apartments has wide plank pine floors, exposed brick walls, ceilings that are at least 15” tall and oversized windows.
Beacon is commencing a $3-million improvement plan that includes interior renovations to all units; tower beautification and tenant buildouts for office users.
The company owns more than 6,000 multifamily units in the Southeast US, with a strong focus on secondary markets, and nearly 1 million square feet of office and retail properties.
