Tracy Murphy Takes Bay Area Leadership Reins at Kilroy

Los Angeles-based Kilroy Realty Corporation moved Tracy A. Murphy into the top Bay Area leadership role, following the departure of Mike Sanford in early February 2017. Murphy joined the REIT in June 2016 as executive vice president to lead its life sciences activities.

Murphy will take on additional duties for the region, including overseeing 70 Bay Area employees and a portfolio of 5.1 million square feet. In the past five years, the Bay Area has become the largest region by NOI for Kilroy.

Kilroy’s 14-million-square-foot portfolio also includes roughly three million square feet of West Coast life sciences properties. Murphy handles leasing, development and positioning of those assets, and is responsible for identifying new development or acquisition opportunities in San Diego, Los Angeles, the Bay Area and Seattle markets.

Prior to Kilroy, Murphy’s more than 15-year CRE career included stops at BioMed Realty, and BRE Commercial.
