TPC Group, SI Group Close on Baytown Facility

SI Group has closed on a manufacturing facility in Baytown, TX that once belonged to TPC Group. The acquisition included an on-site terminal and manufacturing assets for nonene, teramer and other propylene derivatives. The products are used to serve customers in energy downstream markets and include fuel, lubricant and oilfield additives.

The price of the asset at 4604 W. Baker Rd. was undisclosed. The Harris Central Appraisal District assessed the facility and the 10 acres on which it sits at approximately $21 million.

The Baytown facility is SI Group’s second manufacturing location in Texas. The Baytown plant will assist the company’s existing facility in Freeport by providing a source of raw materials for the latter’s products.
