Townhomes Planned on Former Industrial Site

InTown Homes Ltd. has gotten the go-ahead from the Round Rock, TX City Council to build The Depot Townhomes on what was once the site of Builder’s Gypsum Supply, an industrial company. The city will sell the four-acre parcel of land at Bagdad Avenue and South Mays Street to Round Rock Transportation and Economic Development Corp. for $2.1 million. The corporation will then sell the land to InTown Homes for $425,000, in three separate transactions.

In 2015, Round Rock received three development proposals for the land. One was for multifamily use, one as a placeholder for future development, and the third was for urban townhomes. “It’s been a long time getting the industry use out of downtown, and making room for something really interesting,” Mayor Alan McGraw said during a recent city council meeting.
