TowneBank to Tear Down Charlotte Office, Larger One on Way

TowneBank plans to raze its existing office at 6337 Carnegie Blvd. in late May, replacing it with a 75,000-square-foot, five-story building co-developed with Harris Investment Co. The Charlotte Business Journal reports TowneBank expects to open the new SouthPark financial center in 2028. Demolition is already underway.

The current building spans roughly 18,000 square feet across two floors. In the replacement structure, each floor will have approximately the same square footage as the entire existing building.

TowneBank will anchor the new building’s first two floors. The top three floors will be leased to outside tenants, with the fourth and fifth floors expected to be filled first. The third floor will remain available should the bank need room to grow into.

The bank plans to add locations in Charlotte beyond the SouthPark office over time. TowneBank currently operates branches in Myers Park and Ballantyne.
