Top Broker Honoree: Robert Knakal

Chairman of New York investment sales at JLL since last September, Robert Knakal has been a broker’s broker since Ronald Reagan was in the White House. Over the course of his career, the Massey Knakal Realty Services co-founder has closed more than 1,850 building sales valued at over $18 billion.

Knakal has twice received the Real Estate Board of New York’s Robert T. Lawrence Award for the Most Ingenious Deal of the Year. In 2010, he won REBNY’s Louis Smadbeck Broker Recognition Award for lifetime achievement in commercial brokerage.

His 2018 transaction numbers are in line with that recognition. While still with Cushman & Wakefield, where he also served as chairman of New York investment sales, Knakal arranged 35 sales valued at more than $1.2 billion.
