Top Broker Honoree: Mark Steinmetz

Mark Steinmetz is a managing director who leads a middle-market team at Meridian Investment Sales. Over the course of his career, he has closed approximately $1.5 billion in aggregate value of transactions.

On the way to closing $101.37 million worth of deals in 2018, Steinmetz achieved near-record pricing for 506, 514 and 520 Tinton Ave., three multifamily properties in the Bronx containing 132 apartments; and for the sale of the 31-unit 99 Joralemon St. in Brooklyn.

Two related deals in the Bronx demonstrate Steinmetz’s negotiating skills. The sale of 980 Westchester Ave. depended on the seller landing a 1031 exchange, although he lacked sufficient funds for a contract deposit. Steinmetz made the deal work via the sale of a strip center at 12-26 East 163rd St.
