Top Broker Honoree: Gerry Trainor

Since joining Transwestern in 1999, Gerry Trainor has sold over 30 million square feet of commercial properties in the Mid-Atlantic region. His clients over the past 20 years have included local investors along with a Who’s Who of institutional players ranging from AEW to Westport Capital.

The year 2018 represented a characteristically productive one for Trainor and his seven-member team, with more than $446 million in sales. A highlight was a one-million-square-foot Northern Virginia industrial portfolio, which Trainor sold to PS Business Parks for $143.5 million on behalf of a JP Morgan Asset Management/MRP Realty partnership.

The 19-building portfolio set a pricing record for Class B, last-mile industrial. That was due largely to a competitive round of bidding that boosted the final price by more than 10%.
