TMEIC moves HQ to Houston

TMEIC Picks Houston for New HQ

A Japanese-based company has moved its headquarters from Virginia to Houston, and has already started work on another manufacturing plant in the area. TMEIC Corp. Americas, which makes energy-related products, moved into the 10th floor of 1080 Eldridge Parkway, a 14-story office building in the Energy Corridor known as Eldridge Oaks. The Houston Business Journal reports TMEIC spent $3 million to renovate 23,878 square feet of office space. TMEIC currently employs about 500 people in the area.

The company is expanding its presence in the Houston area after breaking ground last month on its third manufacturing facility nearby. The new 267,000-square-foot facility, located on a 20-acre site in Waller County, will produce uninterruptible power supplies and medium-voltage drives for the growing data center industry, expanding oil and gas market, and other applications. It expects to spend $65 million on the facility.
