Tishman Speyer’s East Village Quarter Development Advances
The San Diego City Council unanimously approved entering into an Exclusive Negotiating Agreement (ENA) with the Padres Development Team to negotiate terms for the acquisition and redevelopment of Tailgate Park. The development team is comprised of the Padres, Tishman Speyer and Ascendant Capital Partners.
Tishman Speyer’s Paul DeMartini says, “In the coming months, the Padres Development Team will be working closely with the City of San Diego and the local community to further develop and initiate a vision for Tailgate Park that helps achieve regional housing, transit connectivity and economic goals.”
The redevelopment of Tailgate Park would transform a 5.4-acre site into a mixed-use district called East Village Quarter. The development vision includes 1.35-million-square-feet of office, 612-units of residential and a 50,000-square-foot retail district, along with a 1,600-space parking structure.
The Padres’ Erik Greupner says, “We are excited to take another step forward to revitalize Tailgate Park and further transform the Ballpark District and downtown San Diego.”
