Tishman Speyer Leases Massive Postal Space for Creative Office

Tishman Speyer has leased the top six floors of the 10-story Morgan North Postal Facility to develop 630,000 square feet of creative office space in West Chelsea. Under terms of the 99-year lease, the U.S. Postal Service will operate on the bottom four floors of the facility, which encompasses an entire city block.

The property’s fifth and sixth floors will feature floorplates of more than 200,000 square feet each, making Morgan North one of only five office buildings in Manhattan with individual floors of that size. The property also sports Manhattan’s largest private green roof deck.

“With its West Chelsea location on the High Line and just steps from the Meatpacking District, Morgan North resides at the crossroads of Manhattan’s most vibrant and dynamic neighborhoods,” said Tishman Speyer president and CEO Rob Speyer.

Fried Frank’s Tal J. Golomb, Wesley O’Brien, Danielle R. Frank and Max D. Yardeni represented Tishman Speyer.
