Tillar Partners Plans Project on Once-Blighted Panther Island
What was basically once a waste dump for industrial polluters on the Trinity River is being brought back to life. Panther Island, with the help of the Army Corps of Engineers and the Central City Flood Control Project, may soon become a thriving public/private enterprise. Panther Island today consists of more than 500 acres of public and private land in the city’s core.
The Dallas Business Journal reports Fort Worth developer Tillar Partners plans to bring a $120 million mixed-use project to the Island.
The development, located on about 12 acres, would feature Class A office over retail with structured parking. Dubbed Vaquero Panther Island, the project would include about 512,000 square feet and could catalyze additional private development.
