Thornton Tomasetti’s Sustainability practice has appointed Prudence Ferreira as its new vice president to lead the firm’s passive buildings consulting team. Ferreira will be based in Portland, Maine. 

Ferreira is a passive buildings expert with over 14 years of experience in the field. In her new role, she will assist clients in various services such as passive certification, compliance modeling, feasibility studies, and curriculum development. She has worked on various projects, including healthcare and laboratory facilities, commercial and residential properties, schools, and historic structures.  

As a founding member of the Phius Technical Committee, Ferreira has been involved in the development of passive standards and protocols for over a decade. She was previously with BR+A Consulting Engineers.
