The Pryde in Boston, MA will be New England’s first LGBTQ-friendly senior affordable housing complex.

The Pryde in Boston Receives $22M Construction Loan from TD Bank

TD Bank has provided $22 million in construction financing to redevelop William Barton Rogers Middle School in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston, MA into The Pryde, 74 units of safe and accessible mixed-income housing for all seniors, specifically LGBTQ seniors.

The Pryde project is a partnership between Pennrose and LGBTQ Senior Housing, Inc., a local non-profit that will work with the community to identify LGBTQ residents for The Pryde.

The school, which has historic significance to Hyde Park, will be preserved and adapted through protection of the historic exterior facade as well as significant interior architectural elements. In addition, the design includes preserving the auditorium, the gym, the cinema room, the front entrance and 10,000 square feet of event space that can be reserved for use by both residents and community organizations.

The project is aligned with TD Bank’s social purpose platform, the TD Ready Commitment.

About Lisa McDuffie

Lisa McDuffie arrives at ConnectCRE via REALTOR® world, where she served for nearly two decades as communications director for one of the nation’s largest REALTOR® organizations. She supported two membership-elected presidents who were commercial real estate practitioners, and managed the communications initiatives of the organization’s commercial special interest group. When not following the latest commercial real estate news, Lisa is zeroed in on her charismatic off-the-track thoroughbred as she makes the transition from an utterly failed racehorse to a lovely show hunter.
