The New School Commits to 10 More Years at Westbeth Artists Housing

Westbeth Artists Housing in the West Village announced that The New School signed a 10-year lease to remain in its 20,000-square-foot space at the nonprofit housing and commercial complex. The School of Drama at The New School has been located within Westbeth’s complex since 2003.

Westbeth was represented by Denham Wolf Real Estate Services’ Christopher Turner, Kate Hrobsky and Lauren Davis, who negotiated the lease agreement and handle leasing for other available commercial spaces within Westbeth. The New School was represented by David Hollander, Larry Weiss and Maxwell Tarter of CBRE.

Located at 151 Bank St., the more than 20,000-square-foot space spans three stories. It features a double-height theater room on the top floor, classrooms, set and costume studios, and offices.

“Westbeth prides itself on being a diverse and creative arts enclave, and counting The New School as a long-term member of our community deeply enriches our campus,” said Peter Madden, executive director of Westbeth Artists Housing.
