The Innovative Urban Village in East New York Releases Construction Plans
Construction plans for the first two phases of the Innovative Urban Village development in East New York have been announced by Christian Cultural Center (CCC) and Reverend A.R. Bernard, in collaboration with the Gotham Organization and Monadnock Development. The project’s Phase 1A is expected to start construction next winter. These first two phases will cost an estimated $570 million and create 817 permanently affordable rental residences.
“The Urban Village brings a new concept of affordable housing to East New York and provides robust programming for a growing community,” said Bernard. “This milestone marks the beginning of an amazing response to the needs of our community. It is a long-awaited vision being transformed into a reality. I couldn’t be more thrilled.”
Additionally, the development will include retail and commercial space, including a fresh food grocery store, a pharmacy, a walk-in medical center and a neighborhood daycare.
