The Doe Fund to Build Transitional Housing Residence in Brooklyn

The Doe Fund is breaking ground on a new transitional housing residence at 510 Gates Avenue in Brooklyn.

Situated next to The Doe Fund’s first transitional residence, which opened in 1990, 510 Gates Avenue has a storied history with the organization, including previous attempts to purchase it in 2007, finally succeeding in May 2020. Funding for the project is a result of both public and private sources, including support from the NYC Department of Homeless Services and KeyBank’s Community Development Group.

Upon its completion in 2025, 510 Gates Avenue will provide 200 beds for homeless men. Residents will have access to the comprehensive Ready, Willing & Able program, offering paid work, housing, and essential support services to help them rebuild their lives.
