Texas Woman’s University Debuts $107M Health Sciences Center

The $107 million Texas Woman’s University Health Sciences Center in Denton recently opened its doors. It’s a state-of-the-art, multidisciplinary academic and community health facility designed to expand the university’s healthcare training capacity and bolster the quality and quantity of the professional healthcare pipeline in Texas.

The 136,000-square-foot facility brings together students and faculty from multiple healthcare disciplines across the university—including nursing, physical therapy, nutrition, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, and counseling and family therapy. The building has three classrooms, 11 teaching bays, 8 simulation bays, and clinical spaces, including a medical clinic, therapy clinic, and therapy gym.

The architect was the Smith Group and AECOM Hunt was the contractor.

With campuses in Denton, Dallas and Houston, TWU is a major contributor to Texas’ healthcare workforce, with approximately 45% of students enrolling at TWU to pursue healthcare and related degrees.
